I think you've answered your own question.....
Since Brazilians and Peruvians are similar in appearance, there has been mixing of blood.
Babies typically take on characteristics of both parents, kind of a blend at some middle ground. If a brazilian were bred to another ssp, it would lose some portion of that bright coloring they are known for.
You probably could refine something over several generations, IMO people don't want to take that time. ----- Thanks,
