being live bearers it is much harder to notice twins, given we can't count the egg sacks as easily as eggs hatched outside of the body. Thus its very easy for people with egg laying snakes to know they have twins... having a 20 egg clutch and seeing 21 or more babies...is a dead giveaway there was at least one set of twins.



But even then, it isn't a common occurrence. Twins are still rare but not exceptionally rare. They may be less rare than say, an albino hatching in the wild.
