What I can tell you is this most have voluntarily eaten mouse parts but the snakes need a flee response to kick them into gear. Smell means little to them as neonates, if something tries to escape they are on it. They are 100% racer and I know racers. They process food in 12 to 24 hours at 86F and they have the metabolism from He!! And I am half way to switching them to mice and I have only had them less than a week……..Bill If you E-mail me I can give more detail……Bill
