here are more details..... i try to keep it as simple as i can. my drys are in a really sunny room therefore acquiring natural photoperiod. a big, big plus!! also, they're in very large, very AIRY, 75% screened cages on light wooden frames. an enormous diff from the old closed boxes. no more fermenting fecal matter that you may have missed before. that just dries out quickly actually killing the offending odor for all partes concerned, mainly them!! they look freer, they act freer & you can tell that they know what's going on out there acting naturally which is what i was aiming at all along. here's a pic of my yt's enclosure to show you what i'm talking about. it's 8' x 2' x 18'' high & completely screened except for the front which is plexi-glass......as for heating, that's determined by the ambient room temp which is comfortable most of the year. i keep them mainly in the upper 70's. however in the coldest days of winter, i must tweek up the thermostat a bit, in the hottest days of summer, i tweek up the air conditioning. they're most comfortable in that range & easily tolerate slight drops in temps MUCH better than any increase. as for humidity, they are provided w/ large sterlite tubs that they can soak in w/out tipping over & i spray them every once in a while. my dry's will start breeding as early as late august if allowed. i've seen them do it before. the photo-period is the trigger, i'm sure of it. throw in cooler nights & that just makes them even hotter! they sometimes wake me up at night when they're really going at it, they are that loud! anyway, hope this helped you some. i'd certainly think that if you were to pair them now say to thanksgiving, you'll have bt eggs by late march & hatchlings by early july. good luck lloyd & feel free if you have any more questions......
