and see how it works out.. but i just don't like to rely heavily on man made products as a staple.. i guess techinally you could call what i do with the pellets as a staple diet and the feeders are extra.. i've seen it done.. a primarly pellet and green diet.. and with juvies they tend to grow slower... it might work just fine on an adult.. my adults are pretty chubby..and could probably survive without the pellets or just the pellets and greens without feeders.. but i think they are happier with a well rounded meal..and a nice round tummy..
