My guess is... that you probably scare the HELL out of it everytime you handle him. Just keep in mind, that HE just met you, and that you are 100 times bigger than him. How does he know you aren't going to eat him? Handling him when he is not ready = STRESS. On top of that, moving him into a new enclodure = STRESS. Make sure you give him enough time to feel comfortable and confident, before you handle him. Give him time to be shy, let him hide, only interact with him when necessary. I took it VERY slow, and waited until I built a relationship of respect and trust. I didn't even try to touch him for a good 2 or 3 weeks. It took me over 1 month to pet him on his neck and head. It took me almost 3 months to pick him up out of his cage. As of now, he trusts me, and doesn't see me as any type of threat. Don't rush it, or force it, just be patient, and let him come to "YOU" when "HE" is ready. If you fix your husbandry, and he still doesn't eat, then you might have yourself a sick monitor. When I first got my baby sav, he hissed, whipped, and bit, but he started eating by the NEXT DAY! This is just my experience during the first few months with my sav. Make sure you get his basking temp to 130. Hope I was somewhat helpful.
