>>I recently had a boa given to me about 3 ft long and have a couple questions for experienced ones.....
>>1.When i go to hold it at night, to me (maybe its just me) it seems like i "woke it up" or startled it...then its tounge starts rapidly flinging and it seems cool. is this normal?
>>2.i put a cereal box in there (bottom cut out) and it goes in there sometimes, and sometimes not but mostly when it is in it, its head and 5 or 6 inches of its body lays outside it. Is that normal?
>>3.Its about the size of a paper towel roll at its biggest point, and i fed it 2 small feeding mice last saturday which i dont think was enough because they were only about maybe 1- 1 1/4" in diameter and about 2- 2 1/2" long.....he ate them very fast, right as i dropped them in....is it still hungry?
>>any help/tips/advice would be appreciated
>>
>>thanks

1. Active tongue flicking is a good sign. New scents it needs to process. A healthy Boa should be alert to it's surroundings.

2. Yes. It's normal for a Boa to have it's upper portion of it's body outside the hide.

3. They prey item should be as thick as the thickest portion of your snake. A slight bulge indicates a good meal. Some go a little bit larger.
