I tried to do the same thing for a terrarium I was building about six years ago. So, speaking from experience... don't waste your time or money. I used Sculpey and the end result was not something to brag about.



The hide looked okay but the functionality of the thing was next to none. The clay stays semi-flexible even after curing and the slightest amount of humidity causes the stuff to crumble apart.



Don't bother. Head over to the Cage Building forum and ask those guys about the proper materials for this project.
