First of all, do NOT buy calci sand.
If they are very young, I would suggest paper towels, I keep my babies on them till they are 2 - 3 weeks old.
I don't know how many you have together or what size tank your using, but too many animals in the same tank can cause stress and not eating. Also, if the tank is too big, it makes it hard for them to catch their food.
Make sure your basking temps are good.. around 105 - 110 (surface temp)
You could always put the crix in the fridge for a minute before feeding, it slows them down alot.
Hope this helps.
>>I have new babies, they are hatchlings, very tiny. Our pet store recomended the calci sand but I worry about breathing probs because it is so fine and impaction.
>>Also, I have had them home for almost a whole day and two of the three don't seem to be eating much, (about one pinhead each)
>>I have romane lettuce in tiny bits and parsley in one container and baby beardie food soft and soaked in another tiny dish.
>>They look so tiny in the great big aquarium! They are active and playing though. ----- Lisa
