I've not tried them but I do have a fancy power strip for my computer that has top of the line surge protection in it and kept my computer running for half an hour after the power went out. I'm sure if it could keep my computer and all my programs up and running for that long then it could keep a simple strip of heating tape going for a least a while if need be.
