disinfecting wood

Ive seen branches and stuff at the pet shops but most of them are just too small for a large boa enclosure. Is there a way to disinfect yourself and make it 100% safe?



I also ask because i was thinking of useing bark peices to make the walls and background of my homemade wooden enclosure. I can readily get the bark but its probably no safe the way it is....
