House Gecko

I just found a baby house gecko, and my kids want to keep it for a couple of days, I have a small critter box, what do I need to use as the subtrate? What do I feed it, does it just need water to drink, or water to drink and soak?

Any links to a care page??? Thanks in advance for your help.
