Bare or unsealed wood in a cage can be very hard to clean. If you are only referring to the walls, floor etc. of the cage, then I would say it it's sealed properly it's as easy to clean as most any cage. Likewise, it should hold humidity well.
When you say particle board with a veneer coating, I'm guessing you mean something like melamine coated particle board? If so, then the product is already sealed and quite easy to clean, provided the melamine surface holes up. ----- Currently keeping a small collection of various Gonyosoma. Both G. janseni and G. oxycephala.
