When I did this I just hung the Reflectix very loose and took care to keep a bit of a pocket between it and the wall. None of my wall was block but part of it was a poured retaining wall.



However, my situation was temporary so I was not concerned about moisture being trapped and effecting the wall. It also helps that this is not typically a concern in my part of the country.



I would call the company and give them the some more specific information. Specifically...



Whether the exterior walls above or below grade, or a bit of both.



Where you live.



If the block is sealed or insulated in anyway.



If the room will be cooled in the summer as well as heated in the winter.



Some parts of the country have strict codes about how vapor barriers can be used, especially in below grade applications. And this is with good reason as they can easily cause moisture problems if not utilized properly.
