From my point of view your monitors have faded colors, they have slate grey tails witch should be blue ( or green in sunburst jobiensis) and they lost the intense olive green dorsal coloration that distinguish jobiensis.

Why do you take this personal? Man they are only friken lizards.
I never said they look ugly, I said they lost some coloration, and this is reversible, but hey if your color blind and like them this way, that’s fine with me.

Island jobiensis Batanta Waigeo have the least colourful tails of all jobiensis morphs, yet mine went from off white to the deepest blue in a matter of months, my sunburst went from a barely noticeable greenish tint to a rich mint green tail, my regulars all exhibited awesome blue tails at any age and the most delightful olive green dorsal, these characteristics are what makes these monitors so appealing, they set them apart from the other monitors, we can work our husbandry to allow these monitors to glow, this is nothing new, birders and aquarist have been doing it for many years, Japanese fish breeders have for 1000 years, hey they must be so darn dumb to think any foods could affect color, yet they changed a plain brown carp into those amazing tri and four colours fishes of today’s pet trade, but you mike must see them all in plain brown?

ps. best of luck with the eggs!
