Spaghum moss

I was interested in setting up a ball-python vivarium and I was wondering if just plain spaghum moss would work for a substrate. I wanted it to look realistic, rather that just using newspaper or astroturf. Im open to any ideas as to what would look better or work better. Thanks for your input.
