I'm not a huge breeder myself and only keep around 35 snakes right now, but I have a big female that has done this periodically throughout the 3 years I've had her, as others have experienced, mostly when I am expecting babies or digesting a meal. I haven't had a problem yet, but there is no telling what could really cause them to do this or if other things can cause the same behavior that may be fatal or bad for the snake.
