An argus or nile is the stupidest choice you could make.
Be responsible and use your head- get an ackie, be patient.
Tegus are not the same as monitors; so dont expect that makes you ready.
Get an ackie (or better yet, a pair) and start there.
Argus get big; same with Niles... hell, same with MOST monitors. They get big enough that having an enclosure for them in your home can be difficult (if not impossible in some places).
Start with something that ISNT going to grow to 6 ft in length; then work your way up.
