Yes WC melleri can be very difficult just like any other species. There are exceptions, but it takes a lot of attention and experience to catch and treat problems, and for many health problems we don't have much to offer. I had a wc melleri who was healthy for years. She was gentle, almost social, really tough, and a joy. But she also had a bedroom all to herself, a variety of large feeders, pretty specialized vet care and careful nutrition which took a lot of time and $ too.
