Hi Joe. I appreciate the comments and would like to respond, just so you see my point of view and mindset.

1. I did edit it, although I obviously did it quickly. I probably could have taken it down a bit more, but I really wanted to show both animals in detail and have their "personalities" (inquisitive, bold, confident, etc.) shine through a bit. I don't think I could show that effectively in a 30 second spot (15 seconds per animal? no way!).

2. While the music may annoy some people, from my own perspective and experience, I find that videos may be a bit boring without it. I think it can set the tone for the message the video is sending, as well as speak to the intended demographic. Of course, it could also backfire and turn someone off immediately.

3. I believe that unless the video content is completely obvious to the general public, a title is warranted. In this case, I wanted people to know what they were looking at. On youtube, many, many people, both in the hobby and not, will see this video (I hope) and I want people to know that these are Spilotes pullatus, also known as Tiger Rat Snakes. Again, personally, I think some typographical commentary (as opposed to my droning, annoying voice) adds a little fun and/or information for the viewer.

Bottom line is, thanks for watching my video and taking the time to comment. I will definitely store your comments away for my next video making endeavors.

Billy

>>I think its nice that your posting video - I like to see that. I wish though, that people who posted video would do 2 things. One is edit their video. Your 5 minutes of video should have been edited down to about 30 seconds. And second, leave the music out of it. Although the music may appeal to you, its just annoying for most viewers and it adds nothing to your message.
>>And I guess, one more thing - leave the titles out of it too. For the most part they are annoying and also, they are annoying
>>
>>Just my pet peeves. I used to teach video editing (etc) and I had to remind people over and over - your not trying to amuse yourself, your trying to communicate effectively.
>>
>>Sorry for nit-picking!
