It's actually acrylic on wood panel. I like to use all types of paint,but acrylic is my fav. It dries fast, has a really bright tone to it and is an easy clean (brushes and stuff) If you want to do realism in watercolors, to me it's about using lots of layers, lots of layers, to bring out the depth and richness of the colors you use. Remember that your resulting color/tone, will depend on all the color you use after that (translucent). I would love to see what you are working on.
