I don't keep water monitors, just argus and ackies, however most will agree that housing varanids outdoors in the US is a tricky deal. You will want to have a fully functional indoor section that is plenty large enough to house him in most of the year, and if you feel inclined, make an outdoor addition that can easily be partitioned off during the cold months. The idea with any monitor, is allowing them to be able to choose the conditions they need. Do some more research on their physical needs, and talk with successful salvator keepers for more insight on the subject. Cheers, Lance | ||
