Normally they bask until they start to get too hot, then gape to release heat, and move out of the heat shortly after that. The gape should stop. If he only does this during basking it is normal. If he sits gaping when he's out of the basking area and shows a pale light color it could be too warm in the room. [ Hide Replies ]
