It sounds like you're on the right track. This is only my second breeding season so hopefully someone more experienced will respond. I don't think you necessarily have to cool, though. I know there are at least a few breeders who post here that don't. Maybe some of them will respond to this thread. I started cooling my pairs last year in Dec., but I'm considering not cooling at all this year. I already have 4 pairs locking up, and 4 more females who just need a little more weight. I almost forgot - my snake room gets natural light only, so it does get fewer hours of daylight during the winter. I'm not sure how critical this is, but it can't hurt.

If your pairs are locking up, the only other thing you have to do is wait. Either they lay eggs or they don't. Also, palpating females isn't really that hard, especially once the follicles get bigger. Ralph Davis has a good article on his site if you want to learn how.
