Well there is always a parade rainer.

If you want to get a good or special strain of rat like Sprague Dawley or Swiss Webster Mice, you are going to have to go to some time of labutory supply house. I have spoken to the people at Harlan Industries and they ship live rodents to schools and universities all over the US. They will sell you as few as a couple of rats and deliver them on one of their trucks. Yes it will cost more than Petsmart. But then Petsmart doesn't sell lab grade mice do they.

>>Not to rain on your parade, but it's really not cost efficient to ship live rats, for lots of reasons.
>>It's against regulations in most common carriers, so it's gotta be done via airlines.
>>Some carriers require a vet signed travel certificate like a cat or dog.
>>The actual chew resistant, shipping containers aren't cheap, either.
>>Rats should have water and food (in case of delays) as well, and the package has to somehow contain the water and be able to dispense it to the rats.
>>It MAY be more cost efficient to ship a large number of very young rats, but it's better to just get them from a local pet store.
>>You're prolly gonna have hundreds of dollars invested in shipping a handful of small rats that will be stressed and traumatized.
>>Too many problems.
