If you think your BT is getting fat, it most likely is. If there were a formula for proper size & weight I'd imagine that it would involve a girth measurement, also. As for average weights of certain lengths, I couldn't tell ya.
I'd suggest cutting back just a tad on the amount given at each feeding.
As for the odor, daily spot-cleaning should take care of it, and it should be done. Sometimes they'll defecate in a large tub of water if they're got one big enough for them to get into. This makes cleaning up after them easier by just dumping the water & cleaning the tub.
If your BT is defecating on a bare wood surface, like the room's subfloor, you'll NEVER get rid of the odor.
