I would set up a male and 4 or 5 females per ten gallon (approx. space)Two males will occupy themselves killing each other instead of breeding. Pick medium mice, not huge spent things. DO NOT meddle after you set them up. Don't add another in a week or move anyone group to group. Mice want to be left alone. Leave them for a month, maybe even two. Some of my best line of mice take a couple months to start then kick in and go. Be patient. Don' t feed seed mix.....I feed dog kibble, others feed lab block. Don't panic and feed them off if they eat a first litter or two. Let them be and they will settle down. As for temps....room temps are fine. To hot and you kill them, too cold and they will spend all their energy staying warm.
