I really don't think there is any solid answer to this question. Most that I have seen LOOK like they have lost color, but they are just filthy from being in the dirt.
Of course they lose that initial bold coloring from their hatchling size, which seems to go pretty quickly.
Mine has maintained some nice orange spots, bold blacks, and bluish grays. She still sports the yellow nose also. She is 2 years old.
