I was lucky enough to visit Crutchfields in the 80's at several of his locations, Bushnell and Fort Myers. I saw his old ricky shop in Fort Myers and his shop, home and land in Bushnel, and another shop I believe was in Fort Myers that had a retail side on it where I purchased a few Rosy Boas then and next door his private personal collection. I know this was after the older Fort Myers place and I think before the Bushnell places. The shop I'm referring to on the retail side had the biggest Retic I had ever seen at that time, a fresh import said to be around 20+ feet and was in the biggest crate with only a small screened area in the top. This was a mean snake. He let us visit his personal collection next door and it was the nicest I had ever seen back then. The picture inclosed is of what I believe is the same snake in the thread below. I personnally took this pic and saw this snake. The Redtail was huge. Said to be a wildcaught 14' at that time and the boa on top of it was a 6 footer for comparison. The gravel in the cage isn't peagravel but the largest sized gravel you could buy which had pieces as big as baseballs. I couldn't believe the head on this snake as it was bigger than my hand. It looked the size of an average dogs head. Anyway I just wanted to verify what Crutchfield is saying about his pic of that snake since I saw it in person. We used to travel to Fla from Georgia back then just to see one snake sometimes since big collections were rare and pics just weren't available like they are now. Used to always go to Crutchfields and Hogtown Herps back then. Anyway thanks Crutchfield for the time you took with someone you didn't even know. This pics for you.
