I think either one will be a good idea. Although, u will still have only one side screened (even if u go all the way to the door frame)...not a lot of air circulation. U could instal 2 or more small fans when i put in the lights in the ceiling. Good luck. I've often wanted to convert a closet or an alcove into a XLG cage. Just remember the ergonomics... the cage/closet will have to be cleaned on a regular basis. Where u at in the Bx? I'm in Mt. Vernon... would love to check out your setup. Never seen a Meller's in the flesh
