Thanks for the compliments on my snakes. I really lucked out on 'em.
After searching locally for one for my son's 6th birthday we drove 2hrs to a big city I felt I had a chance at finding one. Pet stores wanted too much so as a last minute effort I picked up a local classified magazine and there was an ad for "Burmese Python Hatchlings" at $65 each. Called the guy & asked if he had male & female since they were so cheap. Met him in K-mart parking lot, we talked for a few minutes and when I went to pay him he said to just give him $120, $60 each.
Started to walk away and he said, "Oh, yeah, those are het for albino & labyrinth." I told him that didn't matter to me, I just want a nice lookin' burmese, which they were.
Needless to say, I'm anxiously lookin' forward to this season to see if the same pattern ratio holds out (3,1,1).
I see a few hets floating around in kingsnake.com's classifieds here & there and I think they're going for about $100 each. Somewhere near there.
I wish you plenty of success with breeding 'em this season. Keep us updated. Oh, and thanks again for sharing the photo of your lab, I appreciate it.
Catch ya later! HH ----- Due to political correctness run amuck, this ol' hillbilly is now referred to as an: Appalachian American
