In the past I've had some care problems, but now I'm getting him fixed back up. I've heard alot lately that feeding them to much is bad? In the past I have let mine eat as much as he wanted in the summer. I allow him to graze on my grass and weeds(non-chemical lawn for a couple years). And I supplement it with greens and occasional squash and such. I used to use Rep-Cal/Herpivite w/ D3. So I believe he was getting far to much D3 living outside and getting supplemented with it. So, I bought Miner-ALL 1 and saw that there is 4,400 IU/KG of D3 in it compared to 400,000 IU/KG in Rep-Cal with D3!!!! So He is getting Miner-ALL 1 over the winter along with a reptisun 5.0 and in the summer I'll get him Miner-ALL 0. Anyway in the winter I let him graze on timothy hay in his trough and I give him about 3 leaves of turnip/mustard greens and will be adding opitunia cactus every other day in substitute. (3 leaves is 3 stalks of it, like in the bunches at the store I take 3 big stalk/leaves out to feed).
Am I feeding him to much, just yesterday I had him out for a bit feeding him some turnips and letting him graze and I happened to see it looks like he is fat. However, when I touched his extra skin which you will see below, I felt muscle not far at least on the side.
