I wouldn't worry too much, as long as you have the temperature gradient you described. They will go where they need to go.
However, you might want to put a few more hiding spots in there - one on the warm side and one on the cool side, in case they are nervous about being seen. Some boas like to hide, especially when they are vulnerable after eating.
