Get disseminating' dern-nabit....not inseminating'...hehe...

Is that an ovulation swell ? or gravidity ?

I am under the impression she had already ovulated and this is the result of breeding thereafter or perhaps before ?

Please elaborate...

for example :

Pre-ovulation in Python reticulatus...August 2007

Ovulation (swell) of retic95_FR_CJ_female...Python reticulatus...Sept 15 'ish 2007...yeah that's her stimulating name...Translation...Captive Bred By Frank Roberts & Charles Juiliano in 1995 and as obvious as it may appear...it's a female ( well I'm pretty sure anyhows )

slightly after swell...

This female bred immediately before and immediately after this swell...4 possible sires...after that she would swat them until I removed them from her enclosure...women...

1. a tiger retic...( 17 foot male )

2. a second generation by product of our 1995 breeding...out bred to a Ambon Yellowhead reticulatus...resulting in my typically boring labeling system of retic98_male_FR_CJ_DS. Daniel Stokas produced this one with one of our males from 1995...in you guessed it 1998...

3. an albino Burmese python...( The only photo of her involved in any type of copulatory activity...I actually witnessed intromission in 3 of the 4 sires...guess which one I never saw bred her...the only one I managed to take a pic of... )

4. a Coastal carpet...I saw snake breed with her for several hours...she ovulated during the actual copulation...swell dissipated in less then 24 hours...as in slightly after...well

later on (as time passed)...hummm...she should drop this month..my guess of the 10th is obviously off..based on someone's data of pre-lay shed's in this specie of Python...I never kept track of that stuff with Pythons...not convinced it is like what one finds in most colubrid specie...but I will try to keep better records in the future...I do not disturb them while mating...interfered on more than one occasion with more than a few snakes...I guess they don't like Reptilian Voyeurs...hehe...looking very gravid...who knows...hope she lays a fertile clutch...I haven't bred retic's since 2001...I was hibernating so to speak...

had to toss a BRB into the mixture...lol

may as well toss this one in as well...I have seen both my Dumeril and my BRB's breed on more then 15 occasions already (respectively). My breeding data usually has more noted copulations then most peep's I speak too...I use introductions similar to how I bred Colubrid's...Richard Ross inspired me to experiment with the hypothesis of Captive Stagnation in regards to their reproductive biology and possible artifacts of the captive environment that most obviously differs from wild type breeding in the animals actual niche...the better we duplicate...the better the results...we can't beat Mother Nature at her own game...but it loads of fun trying...I still get excited about breeding the 'ole American rat snakes...cant be just me...it doesn't get old...for me anyway's...
