That was my first thought, too, Quig. I managed to copy/paste the url from the red X and see the pics and I think you're right.
The scale lines are closer together & more evenly spaced than other ones I've seen. Here's the links to the pics.

How old & long is it & how much does it weigh? Looks to me like it's overweight, which could also add to the problem.
Bigger cage, increase humidity, reduce feeding a little until you see it starting to slim down, get it out & let it get some exercise more often, too. Too small of a cage (not enough exercise room), is most likely reason for it being overweight.
