For all you folks keeping Varanids I thought I would share some data on Cyclura and Iguanas. As many of you know I keep and breed these lizards outside yearound here in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. I also have a temp gun and regularly measure body temps on various days. Yesterday was partly cloudy and a balmy 81 degrees. The hottest lizard measured was 113 degrees and the coolest 101. All of the lizards had one thing in common they were trying to warm up even more. I've measured them in August at temps of over 125 degrees and still in the sun. Many species of Varanids like much hotter temps available than most people think. Keep in mind my lizards can at any time take shelter from the sun. Many problems arise with certain captive lizards because of the keeper not providing an adequate warm up spot.Looks like your off to a good start with he Water Monitor...TC
