a few things.....
First, snakes and reptiles in general are still looked down upon and it's kind of a fine line between exposure and putting reptiles directly in peoples face. Take for instance the float idea. I first read it and thought "wow" thats a great idea! Everyone watches that parade on TV, that would work! But then I thought, well......aren't we always advising against bringing your snakes/reptiles out in public for the sake of show? So you'd somehow have to find that happy medium where it's educational or something like that it could be done tastefully I think.......
Second, not to bring up the large thread from a week ago about customer service but, in regards to advertising....As we can tell from the thread, its plain and simple......some (not all - big and small breeders alike)do not have the time nor do they want new customers. In my opinion, the ones who wouldn't take the time to call or email back would surely not spend time and money on advertising. In regards to the shows, I'm from Florida myself and like you said, they are poorly promoted/advertised on a larger level. We know about them because its what we do......but the only exposure the general public gets is when they are reading the newspaper article on Monday after the show! ----- Jon F
