It sounds like "in season" behavior. My male is very
trustworthy all year. He is in full breeding season and I am
very careful with him. Luckily, he decides to attack his
towel instead of me when he needs a fix.

My ig's behavior usually lasts from around the end of October
through January with the most unusual behavior around now.

I have enclosed a picture in his Santa suit. Look how
orange he is when in breeding season.

Just be patient and continue to handle him and do all the
normal things that you do. It most likely will pass. It
really is a nice looking ig.

I am assuming that it is a male but females also can display
this type of behavior.
