The only Herp Society in the central part of NY is the Upstate Herpetological Association. It still exists, but it is one of those orgs that has been in decline for several years due to the internet and internal issues. Some great people still involved with it, though. They are based in Syracuse, but cover the Albany-Rochester-Binghamton triangle. There is also a Buffalo Herp Society, about which I know little.
