Here are a few pictures of some locality Mexican milks for you guys to see. Living here in East Texas, I am able to make quick runs down to South Texas along the Mexican border when conditions seem just right. I try to make it down there at least once every spring, sometimes making two or three trips to the area every year. I have been lucky enough to find 6 annulata in only 3 nights of hunting but as field herpers know all to well, unfortunately, many nice animals you find just happen to be dead before you get to them. Sadly, this has been the case (or curse) and 5 out of the 6 I have found were all roadway casualties or DORs (dead on road). The funny thing is that the only one I have found alive had actually been nicked by a car only to die a few weeks later. Regardless though, South Texas has much to offer other than just milksnakes for those looking for cool herps. Here were just a few....
