... vitamins decompose and breakdown after exposure to air. Vitamins without a shelf life printed on them (most don't but Herptivite does) should be used within a year at best. Also, premixed vitamin and mineral mixes have a shortened shelf life. I won't bore you with the details, if you want to know more read Ed Kowalskis article on Metabolic Bone Disease (MBD) at the link below.

Storing supplements in a cool dry location will lengthen their shelf life.
