Posted by: pamirsburms at Mon Jan 28 00:06:14 2008 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by pamirsburms ] ok all I have been raising snakes for 15 yrs now but I have only had burms for about 6 months. I have an Albino and a regular (if you can call any snake regular LOL. My albino had (minor) burnt himself about 8 weeks ago including his eye scales. He finally shed tonight (Thank GOD!!) he has not eaten since he burnt himself and I am praying that now he will eat! On top of that my newest (Abby) some mucus although she is not making any sounds when breathing or hissing (other than a hisss of course) no rattling and does not hold her head up like she is having a hard time breathing. The mucus does sometimes dry on her mouth (lower jaw) and I wipe it off (she hates this!!!!) Their temps are in the 80's at all times and their humidity is usually at about 50% (it does vary though) I cleaned their cage thouroughly tonight with bleach solution, rinsed well and treated for mites since I think I saw a couple on Butter (my Albino) . Can anyone think of anything else I should or could be doing? Abby has not eaten since I got her (about a month ago) but I know that could just be the stress from the move and so could the mucus. I am hoping now that Butter can see he will eat! And someone remind me again why I love snakes? All I ever do is worry about them LOL [ Hide Replies ]
