The sad thing about it is if that man was allowed to breed these tortoises and sell the young ones he could make many times the annual income of the average person in madagascar. Instead these people have to scour the country side for food and fire wood and destroy their enviroment in the process just because they want to survive. The logic of keeping these animals trapped on Madagascar and not allowing anyone to work with them makes as much sense as boarding up a family in their burning house to save them from the fire. If you ask me the best thing that could happen to any wildlife in Madagascar would be to get it of that burning island. That smuggler should be given a medal instead of a jail sentence.
