thanks for your reply. that's what i typically do. if she hasn;'t eaten it after 30 minutes i put the rat under a heat lamp for a minute and then offer it to her. she then strikes and coils at it.

normally it takes two tries, but i did this about 4 times last night before i gave up.

i also make sure that she's in a quiet place so she feels comfortable.

i'll try leaving it in there for a couple hours, but i think that if she hasn't eaten it after 30 minutes (by then it's cold), then she probably won't eat it anymore. but it's worth a shot.

can anyone else offer some advice?
