They already passed a law here in florida making it difficult to own retics and burmese pythons and nile monitors. You must post a 10,000 dollar bond and prove 1000 hrs. experience to obtain a permit. It's the same permit needed for venomous reptiles. It
is in response to infestation of the florida everglades
with pythons. They are more common than many native species now, and have even been found eating large alligators. Cape Coral florida is also overrun by nile monitors which are eating peoples cats and dogs. These laws are warranted here, but a outright ban on ALL pythons and boas is ridiculous. That would inclued ball pythons, on of the mainstays of the reptile industry! ----- -Jake
