If i were to buy one- it would be the economy plastics (i think thats what theyre called) by animal plastics...
We decided that since we need so many- we're just building our own. We've got 1 almost finished- hope to be done tonight and put tubs and bedding in and let it sit so i can regulate the temps and hopefully this weekend, we'll have snakes IN the rack!
i'll get some pics when we're done.
We are building 3 total- i think they ended up being 7 tubs high.... I spent just as much, if not more on the tubs than the lumber.
We are using 2x4s as legs, then 1x3s as a frame for the masonite board, with 1x2s glued ontop of the masonite- and heat cable attached to the 1x2s-- the cable is about 1/2 inch thick- so the 1x2 will keep the cable about 1/2 inch away from the tub- not in direct contact.
heres our list and our prices for one rack: 2x4s- need 4 -- about 2.60$ each 1x2s- don't know the exact #- we bought 20 (wont use them all)- 2$ something each 1x3s- need 11-12 -- about $3.75 each Tubs- sterilite clear view from target 7$ each- masonite board- dont know exact #- we bought 3-- 6.15$ each... Heat cable- already had 40 ft... no idea on price...
anyway- i'll get some pics hopefully tonight when i'm done with the thing! We're going to put sides on it- probably out of MDF and paint it black- because i am a girl and it is in my house and i like pretty things....
all and all- not too expensive Beth ----- The rescue site: www.freewebs.com/okreptilerescue
