Depends on the snake. Some snakes get a bright pink belly first, some get milky eyes first, some sneak it up on you with only a little bit of a dullness to them before they turn completely grey and shed.

The cycle tends to take about 2 weeks, like the previous poster mentioned. I have noticed that not all snakes will get a pink belly, but they all start to turn dull, with eyes that get greyer and greyer as time goes on. They eventually turn completely opaque, and look blue, and then within a week of that, the snake usually sheds. A lot of snakes clear up a day or two before the shed, looking completely normal again.

Now is the time to make sure that your humidity is perfect!
