Anyone know a good way of claening CS poop off of a log?

I use the 1/2 log hides in both of my enclosures and my adult male has just gone to town on his. (the female is much cleaner.
It seems as if this guy just lifts his tail and blasts away with the white stuff. I find it on the glass at the top of the tank, or smeared all over the aspen.)

Anyway, the log hide is now covered with white poops (not the lumpy brown ones), and I need a way to clean it. It's made from real log, not the simulated plastic ones that you find for aquatic turtles, so soaking it in water is out.

I thought aboot using a cleaning brush, but that would probably just strip the bark off after a couple of times. I know you breeders just use cardboard boxes or tubes so that you can throw them away when you're done, but these are my show cases and I like them to look nice.
