Hi kumasi!
Once in a great while my female burmese pyhton will run her head into her water but I've never noticed her making any noise like you mentioned. But then again, that's about the equivalent of asking Stevie Wonder what color my shirt is - I'm practically deaf (16 yrs of marriage).

It sounds like your burmese just might be clearing water out of it's airways. Watch the next time it does it to see if any fluid comes out of the nose or mouth and whether it's as clear & runny as water or more like mucous, slightly thicker than water.

Usually, if a snake has an RI it begins with laying with its head elevated. As the RI progresses they begin to breathe with their mouth open so they can get more air.

Another way to sort of test for an RI is to constrain the snake by it's neck, an inch or two behind its head (depending on it's size). As they breathe deeply, listen & feel for a clicking or gurgling sound that would indicate fluid in the airway. This doesn't always prove whether a snake has an RI or not, but it generally will. When in doubt, see a Vet.

Double check your humidity level to make sure it's not too low and keep an eye on it, just in case. It's possible your burmese just enjoys frolicking in its water, but rule out as many possibilites as you can.

Have a good one!
HH
