It would seem that the first amels ever (however many millions of years ago that was) must have came about from the same type of spontaneous mutation that produced Howie's animal. That is presuming that all of the snakes then where "normal". Would Howie's snake not then tend to be heritable from this point on. [ Hide Replies ]
